Biography

Chris Lamoureux Family in May 2019

Colonel (Retired) Chris Lamoureux has more than 35 years of leadership training experience with the United States Army. His military career includes international, operational, and logistical assignments with the Active Component, the US Army Reserve, and the Utah Army National Guard. He has significant joint (multi-service) and coalition (multi-national) experience. He served in a variety of command and staff positions, culminating with the position of Deputy Commander of Fort Douglas, Utah in 2010.

Chris has extensive experience building new organizations where individuals must become cohesive, effective, and operational quickly. He is an expert at training individuals in leadership skills and in the art of mentoring, coaching, and development of personnel. He has been in command of thousands of soldiers, developed training programs especially suited for their missions, trained them for combat, sent them into harm’s way, and was fortunate enough to bring each one home safe again.

His civilian education includes both a BA and an MA in International Relations from Brigham Young University and graduate course work at George Washington University. His professional military education includes the Quartermaster Officer Basic and Advanced Courses; the Belgian Institut Royal Supérieur de Défense (Second Cycle-Belgian War College); the Associate Logistics Executive Development Course; Army Master Fitness Trainer; the Command and General Staff College; the Canadian Joint Reserve Command and Staff College; the Senior Service College (Army War College) as a Fellow at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University; and the Senior Manager Course in National Security at George Washington University. He speaks French, Italian, German, and Spanish.

COL(Ret) Lamoureux’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Soldier’s Medal for Heroism, the Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Army Staff Identification Badge.

He resides in Alpine with his wife, the former Cathy Mitchell of Cedar City, Utah. They are the parents of seven children and eleven grandchildren.
